You’ve probably heard it a million times already. You should be taking care of yourself more. You need to take time for you, sista! But let's be real – making time for self-care is tough when you're juggling school, work, friends and family all at once. So many women are constantly stressed about something that it’s almost become the norm.
Don’t forget to breathe.
Breathing deeply is a great way to calm your nerves, especially when you’re feeling stressed out. If you’re at work and feeling overwhelmed, take a few minutes to close your eyes and focus on breathing deeply. This will help you think more clearly and find your focus again. You can also try some light yoga breathing exercises during your break.
Give yourself a pampering session.
Everyone needs a pampering session every once in a while – especially women! Try to find some time in your schedule to completely pamper yourself. Pampering can include anything from getting your nails done, getting a massage, going to a spa, taking a relaxing bath, etc. Pampering yourself will help you feel refreshed, relaxed and less stressed.
Try meditating.
Meditation is a great way to clear your head, relax your body and connect with yourself. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed and try to focus on your breathing. You can also try visualizing yourself in a peaceful setting to help calm your mind and body.
Go for a walk or run.
Exercising is a great stress reliever, especially when you’re going for a run or a long walk. Exercising can help you release all the negative energy and stress that you’re feeling and make you feel refreshed and relaxed afterwards. And if you go running, you can also clear your head and get some much-needed fresh air at the same time.
Take care of your body, including your vulva.
Your body is a temple and what goes in is what comes out. Eating healthily and exercising regularly can help keep your mind and body healthy and balanced. Your vulva also needs care and attention. Try using organic and biodegradable products on your vulva. Also, pay attention to your labia’s health by keeping it clean and moisturized.
Find your happy place.
Find that happy place that makes you feel at ease and relaxed. Maybe it’s your couch, your bed, your favorite coffee shop or your favorite park. Find your place and make it your happy place so that you can go there whenever you need to get away from a stressful situation or just to relax.
Have some “me” time – and make it count!
It’s important to take some time for yourself to unwind and relax. Make sure to schedule time for yourself in your schedule so that you don’t forget about it. You’ll feel refreshed and rejuvenated afterwards. And don’t forget to make the most out of your “me” time. Turn off your phone, get rid of all the distractions and focus on yourself. Meditate, read a book, listen to some music or do whatever makes you feel relaxed. You’ll be glad that you did!
